Editorial: Naomi Ridgeway
Naomi Ridgeway is the Senior Editor of TaskGrid. She has covered task tracker and project management software since 2019, with a focus on how teams between five and fifty people actually adopt — or quietly abandon — the tools they buy. Before TaskGrid, Naomi spent four years inside a product operations team running tooling decisions for a 200-person SaaS company, which is where most of the practical opinions in these guides come from.
The review methodology behind every comparison on this site looks roughly the same. For each tool covered, Naomi opens a real account, runs a two-to-four-week trial on a realistic workflow (not a sandbox), tests the import path from at least one competing tool, and uses the product alongside its native integrations (Slack, GitHub, Google Calendar) the way a working team would. Pricing, free-tier limits, and migration paths are pulled from the vendor's public documentation at the time of writing, then cross-checked against the in-app experience. Where a guide cites a number — a price floor, a free-seat cap, an integration count — it has been verified, not borrowed from a vendor brochure.
TaskGrid earns commissions from links to TaskGrid partner programs across the tools featured here. That commission relationship does not change which tools we test, which strengths or weaknesses we name, or which audience each tool is recommended for. When a product worsens between updates — pricing tier jumps, an automation cap drops, a free tier shrinks — the review changes to reflect it; when it improves, the review changes in the other direction. The full disclosure of how we work with partners lives on our /disclosure page.
